May-June 2014 Car Show Schedule

A few pieces of this are dated now, I was having some trouble getting the website back online, but rather than re-write, I’ll just copy and paste.

I will say this, I will not be able to attend the June 7th car shows, I didn’t realize it but I will be on the Power Tour that day but the club will still meet as planned.

May-June Car Show Schedule

Club Group Events

June 7th-

16th Annual Spirit Of The Smokies Car Show

Harris-Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC

Registration is 8:30 am – 12:pm, judging begins at 12:05 awards to follow **More Info Attached**

The club will meet 8:00 am and depart at 8:30 sharp for the ride over to Sylva from the Sassy Shears Beauty Saloon parking lot off of 441 and Kirkland Rd. This is about ¼ mile past Franklin Ford on the right, just across from the old Ridgecrest Exxon gas station. Last year we had around a dozen cars come out for this event so lets keep that number high this year!

14th Annual Car B’ Que

Hayesville, NC-**Flyer Attatchted**

The Car B’ Que is also the same afternoon in Hayesville, NC. This has kind of been a yearly tradition of mine to hit both shows. With an adjustment of scheduling in Hayesville this year to 1-5pm that makes it even more possible. Is a lot of driving and I know some people will want to stay in Sylva for awards, so I’m not going to call it an “official” club event, but myself and some others will be departing Sylva and the spirit of the smokies show at 12pm sharp and heading over to Hayesville. The hour ride would put us there at pretty much 1-1:15pm just in time for the other show. If you plan on attending the Hayesville show, please let me know that morning so we round you up before we head out. If anyone is interested in just Hayesville, make arrangements with me and we can meet you somewhere on the way.

Other Up Coming Events

I’ve attached a flyer to several events through out the year in Seneca and West Minister, SC. I attended one of the down town Seneca cruise-ins and it was awesome. Close to 100 cars, really nice people, great location. Its on a side street with a breeze way, shade, plenty of paved parking. I’d really like to see the club attend one of these in the future.

May 15-17- F100 Supernationals Pigeon Forge, TN

May 17th- Braselton Bash @ Year One In Braselton, GA 3-7pm

May 30th-June 1st- Chevy High Performance Supernationals Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA

May 31st- Motorama Auction Presented By: Gene Gore- WNC Ag Center Fletcher, NC 10am

June 7th- Hot Rod Power Tour Stop- Charlotte, NC @ Zmax Dragway

June 8th- Hot Rod Power Tour Stop- Knoxville, TN @ Chilhowee Park

I’m not 100% sure of the exact route of the tour yet between Charlotte and Tennessee, but if it comes anywhere close to here, its worth going to check out. I watched it come through Murphy, NC last year and its one of the coolest things I’ve EVER done car related. I myself will be doing the tour from Charlotte to Charleston, WV this year. If anyone is interested in the route, I should know a couple of weeks before the event so give me a call or email me for it.

Sonic Cruise Nights-Franklin, NC May 16, May 23rd, May 30th, June 6th

Don’t forget about the Sylva Cruise Night ever Tuesday @ Bojangles

Hey Jeff. My name is Tony Halaska. Just retired from Broward Sheriffs Office in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I have a place in Highlands and plan on bringing my 31 Ford truck and 65 Comet Cyclone up here.

I see the car show in Hayesville is on June 7th. Glad you had info in here because a lady told me it was Hayesville, GEORGIA.

So basically it is from 1 to 5?? and I’ll pull up map quest for directions. Thanks Tony TH2TH1@aol.com

    • Yeah its Hayesville, North Carolina. It can be confusing because Hayesville actually butts up to Hiawassee, Georgia. Its right on the state line. Sounds like you’ve got some nice rides! I look forward to seeing them! If your looking for a great local car club, come check out one of the Gem Capital meetings!
